My last bike didn't have a windshield, and after a 200 mile ride, especially at speeds over 50, my neck hurt from holding my head into the wind (BTW, I always wear a helmet). With the shield, that's no lnger a problem. Now my butt is the first thing to give out. Just make sure you get a good-quality one with no optical distortion. As far as riding enjoyment, I'm happier than before. Fewer bugs in my teeth...
